stupid car

my dummy car broke down on me for the first time today....argh...needless to say it freaked me out..my car was smoking and everything (i'm still a little freaked out)...some crap liquid was leaking out after i stopped the car...i was too afraid to open up the hood to see the damage and a little paranoid that the thing would explode on me...

good thing it happened right after i got off the freeway and chevron was right there and on top of that bmw is right down the street...and my boss could hop in her car and just pick me up down the street....i can't believe this happened like right after i decided to keep it because it was running so well. (knew i should have just bought the mini)

this happening only a couple days after we had to rush harry to the emergency room for breaking off his toenail...

ugh...more money down the drain...not a good week...momma said there'd be days like this.

sorry to hear about it...

if you saw green fluid, i bet its a cracked radiator neck. its not uncommon that it fails after your car hits 80-100k. its probably the poorest designed component of any bmw. shouldn't cost much to fix as long as you pulled over right away and didnt let the engine run too long. they will recommend replacing the radiator and thermostat.

your momma is right...stuff like that happens. i shouldn't be the one to talk, but it's not really a reason to get a new car, but i know the frustration :) and this was the very reason why i got rid of the 740 lol

so funny to hear you say that rex cuz my car just hit 83k miles...i guess the breakdown was right on time lol....i'm waiting to get the estimate on the repair sometime during lunch today.

I'm thinking that you're right...there was definitely fluid coming out...i didn't notice what color since i was in shock but it would make sense since i did hear a cracking sound (almost like a rock hit my windshield)...

i'm crossing my fingers that the estimate that they give me isn't too high.
